Fresh Start at Covenant Presbyterian Church (CPC) will not be meeting in June, July or August.
We will relaunch Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
Have a blessed summer!
What is Fresh Start?
Fresh Start is a process, not a program. It helps people find healing and freedom from the effects of offense, hurt, and loss through the biblical process of forgiveness and the transforming power of Jesus. It was founded by the late Pastor Steve Peterson and his wife Mindy, and it's been used in more than 50 nations and translated into 20+ languages.
Fresh Start exists to see every heart set free from the effects of offense, hurt, and loss.
Every Tuesday night in Omaha, we gather to walk through the Fresh Start Process together. We do this through teaching, small groups, and the biblical practice of forgiveness. No fee. No registration. Just come.

What is the Fresh Start Process
The Fresh Start Process is a six-part biblical process for working through the issues of your heart: identifying the offense or hurt, understanding how it affected you, examining how you responded, pouring out your heart before God, forgiving those who hurt you, and releasing the person and situation to Him. It's a tool you can use for the rest of your life. You can walk through it in a small group, individually, or on your own using the Processing Booklet and Participant Guide.

What is the Process
"Guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." — Proverbs 4:23 (NIV, 1985)
There is a reason we call this a process, not a program. The Fresh Start Process is a six-part biblical process, designed to be a tool you can use for the rest of your life.
1. Offense, Hurt, and Loss: What happened? Who hurt you? What have you lost?
2. Affect: What thoughts and feelings have you carried because of it?
3. Response: How have you reacted? What internal agreements have you made?
4. Pour Out Your Heart: Get the unmet hopes, dreams, and desires out and onto paper before God.
5. Forgive: Receive forgiveness first, then forgive the way you've been forgiven.
6. Release: Hand the person and the situation over to God.

Is there a cost? Do I need to register?
There is no fee or registration. Just come as you are. We'll show you where to get snacks or find a seat when you walk in.
What happens on a typical Tuesday night?
The evening starts with teaching in the larger room, then those in small groups will break off into separate spaces for their group time.
Small groups are confidential and meet by gender: women with women, men with men.
There's no pressure to share at the table during the bigger session. Come and listen.
Snacks, water, coffee, and tea are usually set out, so if you're hungry coming from work, we've got you covered.

I've never been before. What do I do?
Walk in the South Entrance and head to the lower level. Someone wearing a Fresh Start name tag will say hi, help you get oriented, and point you to a seat.
Do you take a summer break?
Yes. Our Tuesday night gatherings at CPC pause for June, July, and August so our leaders and volunteers can rest and prepare for the fall. We relaunch the first Tuesday of September. If you need support over the summer, reach out or use the Fresh Start app to keep walking through the process.
Is there a Fresh Start in my city?
That depends on where you live.
If you're in Omaha or nearby: Come join us. We meet every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Covenant Presbyterian Church (15002 Blondo Street). No registration required.
If you're close to Omaha, but not local: Our closest in-person gathering is in Omaha. We know that may be a drive, but we'd love to see you if you can make it. If that's not possible, download the Fresh Start app. It has the full process, video guidance, the Processing Booklet, and the Participant Guide so you can walk through it from wherever you are.
If you're further away: We don't have an in-person gathering in your area yet, but you have everything you need to begin. Visit freshstartforallnations.org or download the Fresh Start app, which contains the full process, step-by-step video guidance, the Processing Booklet, the Participant Guide, and the Freedom Series for follow-up. If you have questions along the way, reach out. We're glad to help.

What comes after the six-part process?
We consider Fresh Start a lifestyle. We hope you'll keep coming on Tuesday nights even after you've walked through a small group. There's always more, and the teaching during the larger session continues to be helpful no matter how many times you've worked through the process. And many people also walk through a small group again, focusing on a different area of their heart.
How can I serve or get more involved?
We're always looking for people who want to come alongside the team: small group leaders, hospitality, prayer, tech, and more. Fill out the volunteer form and we'll be in touch.
If you'd like to sign up for a small group, fill out the sign-up form and we'll add you to the list. Groups start in the Fall and Winter after the holidays.
