Hi, this is Steve Peterson with Fresh Start for All Nations.
Over the past past 30 years of helping married couples with their hearts and relationships, I have encountered an interesting phenomenon again and again: The husband explains to me that he’s asked his wife what she wants, or what would please her. He then tries to give her what she says she wants. But, apparently, it still isn’t enough. She isn’t satisfied and he in response becomes discouraged and he’s tempted to just give up altogether. I John 4:19 says, “We love because He first loved us.”
Don’t limit yourself to what she says she wants; ask God what He wants for her. He knows her better than she knows herself and He knows what is best for her. Love and continue to love her because He first loved you.
