Tilling the soil where Jesus walked…
We recently returned from a 13 day trip to the Holy Land filled with both scheduled and unexpected Divine Appointments! We continued to deepen our relationships and expand the Fresh Start footprint with newly created relationships.
YOUNG LIFE (YL)
We had amazing opportunities to cast the vision to YL leaders in 2 different locations. Both opportunities were designed to plant seeds for follow up seminars in July ’18. Our sharing was met with tremendous enthusiasm and over 80+ people committed to join us at a family camp, including parents and youth of all ages. A church in Marietta was led to fund the entire expenses of the camp in July 2018. This will allow many families who could not attend the camp due to finances to hear about forgiveness. Thank you Marietta!
NAZARETH BAPTIST SCHOOL (NBS) K – 12th grade
With an enrollment of over 1000 Arabs (250 Muslim, 650 cultural Christians, 100 Evangelical Christians), the leadership continues to expand their thinking on how Fresh Start materials can serve two functions; teaching english and spiritual principles in the classroom. We will continue to plan on how to implement in July 2018 and 1st Quarter 2019.
OTHER KEY OPPORTUNITIES
The International Mission Board (IMB), which oversee’s all the Baptist missionaries throughout the Middle East and Egypt, and the Association of Baptist Churches (ABC), which represents 16 Evangelical churches in the Galilee area, are both exploring how Fresh Start can be integrated into the area churches programming as well as their respective outreach programs.
There was so much more that occurred on the ground, including a salvation decision from a local who will continued to be mentored via WhatsApp, and we owe a big thank you to all the prayer warriors who prayed for our team and those we encountered. Please continue to pray for the seeds that were planted to grow into a movement that helps to change lives in a part of the world in need of FORGIVENESS. Our team is very grateful for those who paved the way through prayer! Thank you.
With love and appreciation,
Brad Thomas and Pastor Steve Peterson
