Holy Land Trip Report July 2018
Trip Report
TEACHING WHERE JESUS TAUGHTā¦
JUST LIKE JERICHO, THE WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN!
We just concluded a wonderful 12 day trip to the Holy Land. We ministered and shared the Fresh Start (FS) message in Nazareth and other Arab communities in the region. We partnered with Friends of Nazareth (FON), Young Life (YL) and North Metro Church (NMC), to share the message of āForgiven, Forgiving and Freeā.
YOUNG LIFE ADULT FAMILY CAMP
On this portion of the trip, we had the blessing of sharing FS with over 80 adults in 5 different sessions over 3 days. YL camps are filled with high energy, lots of activities, great food, wonderful music, and a high premium placed on spiritual growth. The Arab community do not generally share their hurts with others. FS was invited to help break down the walls, and just like Jericho the WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN!
The following is part of a quote from our host.
āIn general, there is no question that of the 3 family camps we have had over the years, this was the largest and in many ways the greatest..in terms of spiritual impactā¦I was in the community 2 days ago, and there was still a buzz in the air as I walked around and greeted people and talked with them about the camp. The YL leaders feel like FS helped set them up for the year of ministry ahead, and already there is anticipation for next yearās family camp!ā
We were also told that in their small group times, some people were sharing their hurts with tears being shed. The leaders shared that in all their years of ministry they donāt remember experiencing that! The WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN!
YOUNG LIFE STUDENT CLUB MEETING
At a YL club meeting in Nazareth, we had 4 hours of opportunity to share the FS process of forgiving. North Metro church had 9 family members who went through FS before the trip. Three were college age women that actually shared their FS story with the YL student Arab leaders during the meeting. Their testimonies were very concise, transparent and powerful. It was their first time sharing publically, and it seemed like they had been doing it for yearsā¦.and then the WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN!
During a break one of the Arab college students came forward and asked if she could share her story. She had been at a FS meeting in March when Pastor Steve and Brad Thomas shared about FS. Encouraged by hearing the 3 American college women, she shared her story in a bold and powerful way. This had never been done before in this Nazareth club. Our host recently said, āthe day with FS in Nazareth was very, very impactful. I will be in touch about the next
step in our partnership with FS…ā The WALLS CAME TUMBLING DOWN!
THANK YOU TO
All the prayer warriors were instrumental in helping to BREAK DOWN THE WALLS in the Holy Land. Thank you very much. Our team is very grateful for those who paved the way through prayer! Thank you.
With Love and Great Appreciation,
Brad and Susan Thomas and the 9 North Metro Church members
