anger management

How do you deal with anger?

Do you lash out? Do you hide it? Does is seep out in frustrated actions and words?

In this radio spot Pastor Steve talks about the antidote to anger, and why our own efforts of anger management don’t cure the issue.

Hi, this is Steve Peterson with Fresh Start for All Nations.

Do you ever struggle with anger? Maybe even frustration. Have you ever thought that frustration is low-grade anger? Sometimes, we think the answer to our anger is “anger management.” Somehow, we’ve got to manage this. No, that will never cure it.

The antidote for anger is submission. –Something that Cain didn’t do in relation to his brother and in relation to God, most importantly. His sacrifice was not acceptable. He didn’t like it, he got angry and downcast, and he didn’t respond to God giving him another opportunity. He ended up killing his brother!

Contrast that with Jesus, who’s been rejected and despised more than anyone else. Mistreated; more injustice–what was His response? He submitted to His Father’s mission and He gave His life! Cain took a life; Jesus gave His life! The antidote to anger is going to be submission to our Father’s mission.
