Change your perspective…
Pastor Steve discusses how to change your perspective on dealing with difficult people, viewing your actions as a mission rather than a dreaded duty… Listen or read the radio spot to learn how you, too, can go on a “love wins” mission!
Hi, this is Steve Peterson with Fresh Start for All Nations.
Duty, Dread, and not much Desire
–Words that clearly describe the challenge that many of us face on how to relate to a difficult person in our family, church, neighborhood or workplace. A helpful perspective is one of “mission.” You know that you go to give and serve, not to get or be served.
A couple I was recently counseling with was planning a trip to see his parents and they were both dreading the upcoming family time together and they were experiencing very little desire. I encouraged them to forgive in advance–in other words, before they go on this trip–and embrace a “mission” perspective. After they returned from the trip, we talked again. They didn’t just survive but they actually thrived as their mission was accomplished! What did they name their mission? “Love Wins”
This is Steve Peterson reminding you that It’s Never Too Late for a FRESH START!
